Shillong, Feb 6: The preparation for the 19th Meghalaya Assembly election 2013 has went in full swing with the contenders from various constituencies trying their level best to draw the attention of their voters to garner their support for winning the assembly polls.
Even in Mawlai Costituency, the contenders were seemed busy going for a House to house campaigning. Besides house meeting were also being conducted by the candidates as well as the members of the political party to plan out strategic ways and means to impress the electors.
But what strikes most of the general public is that they were confused as to whom they will their precious vote.
“I am confused whom to give my vote this time”, said P Warjri a resident of Mawlai adding that it seems candidates are very known to make false promises.
Interestingly, Warjri said as a genuine citizen of the country he his bound to fulfill his duties.
“I hope that i will not make a wrong choice this time like i did during the last election”, Warjri stated.
On the other hand an elderly lady Lina Lyngdoh aged 70 lamented over the kind of governance in the state.
“What is the government doing, why can’t it address the burning d of the state”, she said while adding that she would like to see a different government altogether.
On being asked if she would like to see a new legislator in Mawlai, Lyngdoh excitingly said “Yes”.
From what can be understood there will be a tough competition between the contenders of Mawlai contesting for the coming assembly polls.
It may be mentioned here that in Mawlai constituency four contenders will field in the assembly polls which include UDP candidate Embhah Syiemlieh, Congress candidate Founder Strong Cajee, KHNAM candidate Pyndapbor Saibor and independent candidate Teibor Pathaw.(SP News)
