Shillong, May 27: The Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog held a meeting with the Vice Chancellors of Central Universities in Himalayan States through Video Conference today to discuss the launching of the studies in the five thematic areas by the Consortium of the Central Universities of the Himalayan States under the initiative of NITI Aayog.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog and attended by Dr. V.K. Saraswat, member, NITI Aayog, Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog and Dr. Ashok Kumar Jain, Principal Consultant, NITI Aayog.
In the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.K. Srivastava along with his team took part in the meeting which was conducted on ‘ZOOM’.
The meeting had discussion on each study namely, Enumeration and valuation of the economic impact of Female labour in the Hills, Agro-ecology in Himalayan States with special emphasis on marketing, Development of eco-friendly and cost effective tourism in hills, Opportunities of livelihood to check migration from hills and Water conservation and harvesting strategies.
