Shillong, May 28: A Virtual Laboratory Workshop was organized by the University being the only Nodal Centre in the North East region since 2015 as per mandate of National Mission on Education through Information Technology (NMEICT), Ministry of Education, Govt of India for the students, research scholars, staff and faculty members of the University.
The programme was organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, NEHU from 26th to 28th May, 2022 with the help of resource persons from IIT, Roorkee. The Workshop was attended by more than 100 participants from different departments of the University and outside.
The aim of the programme was make participants learn about using online educational resources to fulfil their needs by overcoming the lack of infrastructure and physical equipment.
They were trained in different fields of biomedical, electronics, mechanical, electrical and information technology through the virtual online laboratory resources. During the Inaugural programmed, the Coordinator of the course.
Dr. Dinesh Bhatia apprised the participants about the need of organizing such programmes and how they can collaborate with partner institutes to enhance their learning, skills and making them job-oriented as per requirements of the industry.
The participants were encouraged to learn skills to develop such practical modules as per requirements of their respective region, so that maximum benefits could be provided to far-flung and remote places to fulfil the educational needs of schools, colleges and educational institutions.
He thanked the University as well as the visiting team from IIT, Roorkee for the support in conducting the said Workshop. Dr. Sudip Paul, emphasized and urged the participants to take full use of the available opportunity and learn new techniques which would help them in the near future.
