Shillong, Jan 24: Around 3000 government officials have registered for election duty so as they will undergo their four days training to commence from january 28 till January 31 at St Anthony’s College.
The registration for the training programmes has been initiated by the state election department and was done at U Soso Tham auditorium.
Deputy commissioner cum district election officer Sanjay Goyal said, “These election bound officials includes presiding officers and polling personnel who will be deputed in the 683 polling stations in the district.”
It was also informed that the training will have theory classes on the procedures, rules and regulations for conducting of elections besides practical classes on the technical know-how of operating the Electoral Voters’ Machines (EVMs).
Goyal informed that second phase of the training will be from February 5 while the third phase will be from February 11.(SP News)
