Shillong, May 02: The Preventives Customs Headquarters of North Eastern Regions on receipt of specific information, rushed to Silchar-Jiribam Road on 29.04.2024 and kept surveillance for a few hours for suspects carrying a drug consignment.
The Officers were able to successfully apprehend two persons from the Kashipur area at Silchar-Jiribam Road and seized 2.270 Kgs of Methamphetamine (WY) tablets from their possession valued at Rs 2.23 Crores.
The two accused were arrested under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, 1985 and have been remanded to judicial custody. Further Investigation into the case is under progress.
