Shillong, May 7: The Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) under the Shillong Smart City Project funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India will be completed soon and Rs 151.77 crore is being allocated for the entire ICCC not as claimed by a social media post mentioning that Rs 150 crores is for 300 CCTVs.
The ICCC being implemented, PAN City, under Shillong Smart City project consists of the ICCC Building, ICCC Platform and other Software, Data Centre (DC) and Radio Frequency Network (RF NW).
Apart from the above major components, Shillong city will witness a technological development with the installation of field devices which consists of CCTV Camera For Surveillance and traffic management–368, Emergency Call Box (ECB)-42.
Public Address System (PAS)-58, Variable Message Displays (VMDs)-20, Streetlights (LED / Smart Lights with Light Point Controller, LPC)-300, Public Wi-Fi Hotspots-60, GPS based vehicle tracking for Solid Waste Management (SWM) Vehicles-50, and Smart Bins-200.
The ICCC which is to be the brain for city planning and city operations will serve as the central hub for various city functions including surveillance, data processing, emergency response coordination, and smart city applications said Dr. Vijaj Kumar Executive Director Shillong Smart City Project.
