Shillong, Nov 30: The Pro-ILP group today in the public rally at Madan Student, in their
speeches echo with one voice that they want the Government to implement the Inner Line Permit and the government should not implement the Tenancy Act. The demand for the ILP is not of the NGO’s but of the Indigenous tribal of Meghalaya.
The NGOs who spearheading the demand for the implementation of the ILP in the state said that if the government fail to implement, they will further intensified their agitation in the coming days till the government implant the Inner Line Permit.
The president of the JYF Mr P Majaw has lambasted the MLA who remains mum in form of the Chief Minister and their not to talk about the need of the people. He also questioning the government if they demand for their right is that they should be arrested.
The general secretary of the RBYF Mr Lam Sawkmie in his speech he said that many state in the North East understand the need for the protection of the Indigenous that is why they demand for the implementation of the ILP, even Assam.
The President of the AYWO Mr Adison Momin in his speech said that the demand of the ILP is the demand of the indigenous people of Meghalaya not of the Organization the people of Meghalaya need protection or they will be swam by majority .
The president of the JSU Mr Rikut, the Genenral secretary of the HNYF Mr Sudon, Tengsak G Momin, the president of the FKJGP in their speech explain to the people about the need of the ILP for the protection of the indigenous people of Meghalaya, they said there is no others mechanism which is better than the ILP.
The president of the KSU Mr Daniel Khyriem in his speech asked the crow weather they will stop their agitations or they will continued in their straggle to demand from the government to implement the ILP.
In his speech he said that the NGO’s want the state government to implement ILP an this is the only mechanism to protect the people of Meghalaya. People who were attending the rally come from all parts of the Khasi Hills region and Garo Hills. (SP News)
