Shillong, January 12: The West Jaintia Hills District gears up for the 6th Meghalaya Games, With just few days remaining for the 6th Meghalaya Games, preparation for the various sports venues are in full swing with some nearing to completion and some completed.
The West Jaintia Hills District Administration and organizers are ensuring that all logistics and facilities are thoroughly prepared to ensure a smooth execution of the event.
The 6th Meghalaya Games will include 29 sports disciplines that will take place from 20th January, 2025 to 25th January, 2025, with two events taking place in Shillong, the Swimming event will take place in Caroline Swimming Pool, Shillong and Golf at Assam Rifles Golf Course, Laitkor. The remaining competitions Archery, Arm Wrestling.
Athletic, Badminton, BasketBall Boxing, Cycling, Football, Gymnastic, Judo, Karate-Do, Kho-Kho, Muay Thai, Shooting, Softball, sports climbing, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Lawn Tennis.
Volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, wushu, Traditional sports, Roll Ball, Yogasana and Lawn bowling will take place in different localities of Jowai Town, Wahiajer and Khliehtryshi of West Jaintia Hills District. With a total of more or less 3899 participants.
The curtain raiser for the 6th Meghalaya games will take place on 13th January, 2025 at 1.00Pm at the District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai. The event will be graced by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Shri. Shakliar Warjri and Guest of Honour Local MLA and Chairman MUDA Shri. Wailadmiki Shylla.
