Ampati, May 26: As part of the nationwide Information, Education and Communication (IEC) initiative themed “Jan Bhagidaari – Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle”, a series of awareness and beneficiary saturation camps were successfully conducted on Tuesday across several locations under Zikzak C&RD Block in South West Garo Hills district.
The campaign was organised with the objective of ensuring that Government welfare schemes and essential public services reach the remotest communities, particularly vulnerable tribal households. Officials from various line departments, local leaders, village representatives and volunteers participated actively in the programme.
During the campaign, awareness sessions were held on flagship Government schemes related to health, education, housing, sanitation, rural development, financial inclusion, women empowerment, social welfare and skill development. Informational materials were distributed among villagers to help them understand the benefits and procedures for availing different schemes.
Beneficiary saturation camps were also organised to ensure maximum enrolment of eligible households under welfare programmes such as PM-KISAN, Jan Dhan Yojana, PMMVY and health-related services. Teams were deployed to assist villagers with Aadhaar updates and corrections.
A special feature of the programme was the Jan Sunwai session, which provided a direct platform for grievance redressal and interaction between the public and Government officials.
Villagers raised issues related to Aadhaar services, PM-KISAN, banking assistance, labour cards and other departmental matters, many of which were addressed on the spot.
Officials also prepared a Jan Sunwai Progress Report Card documenting grievances received, services delivered and cases requiring follow-up action.
The campaign witnessed encouraging participation from local communities and was regarded as a significant step towards strengthening grassroots governance and improving last-mile delivery of Government schemes in remote areas of the district.
