Shillong, June 24: The Jaintia Youth Federation East Jaintia Hills, in collaboration with the excise department raided many illegal wine shop along the NH-44 where thousand of liquor were ceased by the organization.
The President of the JYF Mr Niwasly Rymbai said that the social problems, in the East Jaintia Hills District, including rape and murder are committed under the influence of liquor. The organization from time to time has voice the issued but no one take action.
The JYF blame the villager dorbar for not taking any step to curb the present of illegal wine shop in their villages. The organization said that many young boys and girls have spoiled their lives. The area has many broken family due to large present of liquor shop in the area.
The JYF said that people should also have their social responsibility and not only to acquired wealth for their selfish end. The welfare of the people is more important, wealth should not be acquired at the cost of the society. (SP News)
