Shillong, Oct 07: The Sports Department of the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya organized the NEHU Inter College Cross Country Men and Women Championship 2023 and NEHU Cross Country Run 2023 for students of the University & affiliated colleges, teaching and non-teaching staff of the University today at the NEHU Permanent Campus, Shillong
All together 125 numbers of participants took part in the events including teachers, non-teaching staff, students of University & affiliated colleges to the University. The run was started at 7.00 am in front of the Cluster of Class Rooms (Non-Science), NEHU, Shillong and concluded at around 8.00 am.
In the NEHU Inter College Cross Country Women Championship 2023, the Shillong College emerges as the overall champion and Sngap Syiem College as Runner up. In the NEHU Inter College Cross Country Man Championship 2023, Sngap Syiem College, Mawkyrwat emerges as overall champion and Shillong College as Runner up.
The event was ended with a closing ceremony where Prof. B. Panda, Finance Officer in charge, NEHU graced the occasion as Chief Guest and gave away the mementoes and trophies to the winners.
Faculty members of the University, Shri N. Das, Asst. Director (PE & Sports) cum Organising Secretary and Non-Teaching staff of the University were present among others during the closing ceremony.
