Shillong, December 11: The adjournment motion move the leader of the opposition Conrad K Sangma on the issue of corruption was rejected by the speaker Mr Charles Pyngrope today in the floor of the house.
The speaker said that he was very much aware about the issued and it is fit for discussion but the motion that was brought by the leader of the opposition is not specific on the issued, the words corruption is vex.
According to the rule and procedure of conduct of business in the floor of the house Rule 56 (2) found that the adjournment motion is not specific that is the reason he will not allowed to discuss in the floor of the house.
The Speaker advice the Leader of the opposition he can bring the matter in different form either through a motion or a resolution or as the Zero hours’ notice. The Leader of the Opposition try to justified the adjournment motion but the speaker said the rule is there and he cannot break the rules.(SP News)
