Shillong, September 16: Again, today the opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly withdraw the no confidence motion that they have move against the speaker which is to take up in the floor of the house after all government businesses is completed.
The No confidence motion was kept at serial number 25 in the calendar of business listed for today, that Mr James K Sangma MLA to beg leave of the house to move the resolution for removal of the speaker under Article 1799 ( C ) of the constitution of Indian.
When all others businesses completed, the speaker announce that , the officer of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly had received a letter from Mr James K Sangma , stating that he is withdrawing the Resolution move by him against the speaker.
The house today passed five bills, the Meghalaya Appropriation (No III) Bill, 2016,The contingency fund of Meghalaya (Amendment) Bill, 2016, The Meghalaya State Language (Amendment) Bill, 2016, The Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security, Bill 2016, The Meghalaya Parliamentary Secretaries(Appointment, Salaries Allowances and Miscellaneous Provision) (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the Legislative of Meghalaya (Members’ Salaries and Allowances) (Amendment) Bill 2016.
