Shillong, June 11: The A·chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) today has sent the letter to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr. Conrad K Sangma to opposed the against the recruitment result declared by the Meghalaya State Watershed Development Agency for the post of field engineer.
AHAM in the letter sent to the Chief Minister that was sign by the Mr. George Prince Momin the president of the organisation alleged that the Agency did not follow the state reservation policy, out of 16 post only one person from the Garo community was selected, this show that state reservation policy was not follow.
The organisation mention that for any projects to be community oriented, there is also a dire need to fill all the post with the local candidates as the success of any project depends on the community participation and only the person from the community would only know the vibes of the community.
The action wherein the people from A·chik community are directly alienated through recruitments show the signs that the Authorities of the Agency under the Government of Meghalaya is not interested for the success of the projects in Garo Hills.
In view of the above, the organisation demands that the above results declared be scrapped immediately and the new results be declared upholding the Meghalaya State Job Reservation Policy and in addition, an enquiry committee to be set up against the person responsible for his illegal acts alleged AHAM.
AHAM said that wherein the State Job Reservation Policy was directly or indirectly nullified while declaring the results, the failure of which will result in eruption of multiple agitations in Garo Hills while the organisation also ensures to drag the Authorities of Agency into the Court of law for the failure to uphold the existing policy, and henceforth, the organisation as well as the A·chik community demands your kind and swift intervention to the matter.
