Shillong, July 06: As’ part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal infiltration and drug trafficking, an Anti-Infiltration drive by personnel of the AID and Anti -Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) was conducted checking a total of 35 individuals on 6lh July, 2026.
On seeing police personnel, several persons fled away, of the 35 individuals who were checked, all produced documents of other states in support of their identity and residence which need to be verified from these states.
During the course of checking, ANTE personnel apprehended 2 persons namely Shri Rahim Ali 43 years and Smti Jaibanu 35 years both husband and wife who were found to be in possession of a contraband of total 116 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing 14,42 grams.
It was recovered from their possession and seized in the presence of independent witness. In this regard, a case vide Sadar P.S Case no. 242(7)2026 u/s 21(b)/29 NDPS has been registered and investigated into.
