Tura, March 12: As part of implementation of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) in connection with the general election to Lok Sabha, 2014, District Election Officer (DEO), North Garo Hills had chalked out different programs to be held in four Assembly Constituencies, i.e. 37-Kharkutta (ST), 38-Mendipathar (ST), 39-Resubelpara (ST) and 40-Bajengdoba (ST).
In this connection, the DEO had convened a meeting of the line departments today. According to the chalked out programs, a marathon will be organised for the entire district on 22nd March, 2014 between Mendipathar and Resubelpara at 7.00 AM.
In Bajengdoba, a quiz competition will be held on 25th March, 2014 at Bajengdoba Higher Secondary School for Secondary and Higher Secondary students and in Mendipathar, art competition will be organised at Mendipathar College on the same day for the secondary, higher secondary and
college students.
While in Kharkutta a marathon will be organised for
both the men and women on 19th March, 2014. In all the competitions, the
winners will be given a cash prize of Rs. 7000 for the first, Rs. 5000
for the second and Rs. 3000 for the third.(SP News)
