New Delhi, March 27: The tournament organized by Meghalaya Police i.e 5th MLP (3rd IR) Battalion presently posted in New Delhi ended with great enthusiasm. The participants of different ranks participated and played with all their heart and strength and finally make this tournament a successful one. The teams were selected based on a draw in order to avoid any bias. The talent of the participants was outstanding and attracted onlookers from the Rajasthan Police, Delhi Police and people of the locality who lived nearby to witness the games.
The final competition was held at Tactical Hq of 5th MLP (3rd IR) Bn. Vikaspuri New Delhi the winners are: Single winner – Marghin Sangma (Constable), Single Runners up – Ruddy Kharkongor (Constable) ,Doubles winner – Holic son Malai (Havildar) & Arbutawas Marak (Constable),Double Runners up – Shri F.G Kharshiing IPS (Commandant) & Insp Manilal Singha.
Among the who participate and won the competition in the Officers single winner – Insp Manilal Singha Officers single Runners up – Shri Sajan Paul MPS (Asstt. Commandant).
The Tournament concluded with prize distribution to the winners and a speech by the Commandant of 5th MLP (3rd IR) BN. Shri F.G Kharshiing IPS. In his speech the commandant express his thanks to all the Organising committee which made this tournament possible. He also lauded the efforts of constable Haidarland Marngar who participate in the Airtel International Half Marathon organize in Delhi recently who secured 194 position from more than 6500 participants from all over the world.
He also called all Bn. Personnel to take part in sports and display their talents accordingly.(SP News)
