Guwahati, Feb 01: The sensational hue and cry in the media, following the death of one Bonti Chutia, that was related to the kissing of Rahul Gandhi, during the Congress Vice president’s interaction with women in Jorhat, on 26th February, finally landed nowhere. The TRP episode just burst like a balloon after it was learnt that Bonti Chutia was not that lady who had kissed Rahul Gandhi.
As reported by a section of local and national media, Bonti Chutia was killed by her husband because she had planted a kiss in Rahul’s face during the interaction session. “She did not even attended Rahul, s meeting, this was all done to malign our image” Said, Tarun Gogoi, Assam,s chief minister.
“I had talked with the mother of the lady, and the family along with two sons and accompanied by her husband had gone to attend a family ritual, later there was some exchange of words between the couple, and it was then the husband had tried to save his wife after she tried to immolate herself, and in this process the husband was also injured who is under treatment now” added the Chief Minister.
It has been learnt that Bonti Chutia, who had come to meet Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi during his Assam tour Wednesday, but stayed outside the venue. “It is very shocking, how media can be so insensitive, this was a issue related to Rahul Gandhi, and media’s sensitivity was nil in this regard, I really condemn the media” Said, Ranjan Baruah, a young social activist.
The episode of Kissing Rahul Gandhi by a lady had become the talk of the town after visuals were aired on Wednesday, but clubbing the death of Bonti Chutia with the kissing episode without proper evidence have raised many eyebrows, questioning the role of the media and their blind run for TRP.(SP News)
