City streets were seen jammed from the public rallies

Shillong, Feb 7: City streets were seen jammed from the public rallies organised by different candidates contesting for the ensuing Legislative assembly  polls slated for February 23.

The election rallies though part of the electoral and democratic process however, caused immense traffic jam through out Shillong.

The congestion not only affected the commuters but also gave the state police a tough time in traffic management. With fifteen days to go, election fever started gripping the people of the state.

In a show of strength and to impress upon those who still not yet  decided whom they will support in this forth coming election to the Meghalaya State legislative Assembly, candidates belonging to different parties and even independent started mobilising people support by organising rallies in different parts of the city.

In today’s rally supporters were seen sporting party flags of their respective candidates, chanting slogans along with cheers and merry making.(SP News)
