CoMSO not happy on the out come of the meeting of Chief Minister with Union Home minister

Shillong, Feb 10:The Chairman of CoMSO Mr. Robertjune Kharjahrin on his reaction on the metting between Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma along with the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Prestone Tynsong with the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah in the national capital New Delhi.

“We r not happy with the out come in the meeting betn CM & Dy CM with Amit Shah. We feel that the union home minister take the issue of ILP very likely. It seem like the protection of Meghalaya indigenous peoples and it’s identity are not important to BJP n NDA government”.

The MRSS amendment bill 2020 is a bill frame under the state list. CoMSO did not understand why it’s need to be discussed with the home ministry. It’s wrong on the part of the former governor to refer the bill to the home ministry and this is a very bad precedent which undermine the power of the state of meghalaya and violate the federal structure of the constitution .

The Governor has publicly expressly that the bill is doable , then why did he delay to give his assent. We request the governor to give his assent to the MRSS amendment bill bill 2020 .

Meghalaya will be badly affected by CAA when the rules is notified and implemented . ILP is a must before CAA is fully implemented in the state other wise we may witness many Bangladeshi, pakintani and Afghanistani will get India citizenship in the state of Meghalaya it’s self .

COMSO ill soon have a consultation meeting among the leader of CSO in CoMSO to collectively decide the future course of action. Said Mr. Robertjune Kharkahrin, Chairman CoMSO.
