Ampati, July 8: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, has notified that Thursday, July 16, 2026, will be observed as a Local Holiday throughout the district on the occasion of Garo Labour Corps Day.
The notification has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, in pursuance of the Government of Meghalaya Notification No. GAA.78/2025/23 dated October 21, 2025.
Accordingly, all State Government Offices, Magisterial Courts, Revenue Offices and Educational Institutions in South West Garo Hills District shall remain closed on July 16, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed all concerned departments and educational institutions to take note of the notification and ensure necessary compliance.
