Shillong, April 22: The Deputy Commissioner inform that the office has received many complaints regarding flouting of COVID-19 protocols by local taxi, the District Administration directed that the Taxi Drivers are to comply with the seating capacity as prescribed by the Transports department, wear mask without fail and used hand sanitizer regularly.
The Deputy Commissioner said that, passengers can report any violations by shearing the vehicles detail to the office or to the nearest police station, further taxi driver are to display the rate cards in the vehicles issued by the District transport officer.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed the District Transport Officer to carry out frequent checks on the same and any violation of the same will be resulted to suspension of the license. Laxity in following COVID-19 Protocols will be met with stringent action.
