Shillong, February 21: The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has issued an advisory to the general public to take extra care during this windy season to avoid incidences especially fire and to get wiring/electricity properly checked.
It is also advised to remove dead branches or dying trees close to the house and to ensure safe keeping of all objects such as lumber piles, loose tin sheets, loose bricks, garbage cans, sign boards etc. which can fly away in strong winds.
