Shillong, March 22: Firs the first as many as eight candidates who have file their nomination to contest from the 1-Shillong Parliamentary Lok Sabha Seat. This is for the first time that a women candidate ha files her nomination out of which seven are men.
Today is the last day of filling nomination, candidate who has file their nomination are, the Congress Candidate who is also the sitting MP mr Vincent H Pala, Paul Lyngdoh of the UDP, Rev PBM Basaiawmoit as independent are the prominent contender in this election.
Other candidate who has file their nomination, include from the BJP mr Shibun Lyngdoh , from the AAP Mr Armerington Kharshiing, from the CPI CPI(M) Mr Richard Shabong Mr Denis Siangshai and Smti Iborina Shylla as independent candidate.
From 2-Tura there is only two candidate who has file their nomination till the last day today, the former Lok Sabha Speaker Mr Purno A Samgma from the NPP and Mr Darly Ch Momin from the Congress.(SP News)
