Shillong, December 16” The Governor of Meghalaya, Shri V. Shanmuganathan released a Bilingual Drama (Khasi – English) Book titled, “Blatant” – Pen Ryngkew, written by Shri Raphael Warjri here today at MAD Gallery, Harilum Building, Umsohsun, Shillong. The function was organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in collaboration with Riti Academy of Visual Arts.
Delivering his address as Chief Guest, Shri V. Shanmuganathan said that nature has always been the most inspiring element and the centre of attention for the painters and artists alike. Stating that compassionate, honesty and courage are the pillars of human values and that value oriented society is the need of the hour in today’s world, the Governor urged upon the artists to depict and exhibit human values and bring out the best qualities of people in their works.
Dr. Sylvanus Lamare, Member, Sahitya Akademi, Shri N. Monish Singh, Regional Director, ICCR and Shri Raphael Warjri also spoke on the occasion.
