HANM asked Meghalaya CM to stop wightment of Truck caring essential goods at Umling

Shillong, May 24: The organization Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) today has sent letter to the Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma to asked him to stop wightment of truck caring essential goods coming from Assam to Meghalaya at Umling weighbridge in Ri Bhoi District.

In the letter sent to the Chief Minsiter said that the organization HANM has receive complaints that truck coming from Assam caring essentials goods like food items they have to weight at Umling Weighbridge and fees were collected from thus truck and this has led to the increased of price in the essentials items in the market and poor consumer has to bear the pinch of the price rise.

The organization urge upon Chief Minister as the head of the government to pass an order that truck caring essentials goods and others items coming from Assam to Meghalaya should stop immediately wightment at Umling, if the government fail do so the organization has  no option but will has to go and stop this legalize extortion.

What  the organization know  that the weightbridge  that was kept at Umling  in Ri Bhoi District is to weight  trucks that transporting  minerals from Meghalaya outside the state,  like Coal, Limestone, Quartz,  mud, Sand and never essential goods that come from outside the has to weight in this weighbridge,

The organistion said that  wightment  of  essential goods is illegal. The organization looking forwards that your good office take  step to stop this with immediate effect. The letter sent to the Chief Minister was sing by Mr. Lamphrang Kharbani President central body.
