Shillong, February 22: The India Meteorological Department (IND) issue warning that Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorm lightning activity with Gusty Wind over Meghalaya for the next 24 hrs.
Significant Meteorological features that the cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked. Moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal is likely to continue over to Northeast India due to low-level Southerly and Southwesterly winds during 22-23 Feb, 2024.
Under its influence fairly widespread to widespread with heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph is likely to occur at isolated places over Meghalaya during 22-23 Feb 2024. Available data indicates that light to moderate rain occurred at few places over Meghalaya during the last 24hrs.
