Shillong, January 19: In a fortnight from 8th to 19 January 2017 the Meghalaya police have received four complaints an alleged rape cases in different part of the state in different district and police station.
The police of Ri Bhoi District received the complaint from Mr Lasting Markhap and his wife that on 13th of this month that one auto-rickshaw driver and his two accomplices,raped their twenty-one year old granddaughter at Nongtraw village in Ri Bhoi District.
In this connection the Police of Ri Bhoi District under Umiam Police station arrested the accused Mr Kyrshan Lyngdoh Marbaniang, Mr Meljohn Ramshon and Mr Ropsing Nongpluh 30 years old.
On the same date one woman lodged a complaint, one Mr Longborn Thongni rape her twice into palce and date, first he rape her on the 19th November 2016 at Pyndensohsham and on the 13th January 2017 he rape at Umpung under South West Khasi Hills District, the rapist threaten this women with dire consequence, the police arrested the accused.
One elderly women forty-five year old lodged a complaint that on the 16th January 2017 at about 2.00 PM one person that she recognized as Mr Songing assaulted and raped her at Bilselgre village in North Garo Hills District, the police is yet to arrest the accused.
One woman lodged a complaint that one person namely Starius Iawphniaw rape her thirteen year old daughter twice, on the 8th January 2017 he rape her in her house at Mawsynrang village and on the 13th January 2017 morning, again the accused took her daughter to his house at Mawsaw Village and rape her.
