Shillong, March 27: The Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council Mr Latiplang Kharkongor who is in charge trade said that the council will kept in abeyance in issuing new trading license to non tribal who come for doing trade in the area of the KHADC.
The Council will issue only to thus company who come to do work in which the local cannot do, even this will be restricted to only certain cases. For the renewal of the trading license the No objection certificate should obtain from the executive committee of the dorbar.
On the issue of the Labour license, the EM incharge Mr J B Basaiawmoit said that they will adher to all rules and regulation the KHADC will not simply issued the license. He urged the contractors to come out and register their labourer in the KHADC.
The KHNAM who is one of the collation partners in the Executive Committee fill that the stand of the party is to protect the interest of the local people, the District council will do its best what ever they can to safe guard the indigenous tribal people.(S) News)
