Shillong, May 29: The large number of cases pending in Courts is a major challenge in the access to justice, the Deputy Commissioner; East Khasi Hills has therefore informed that the Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice will introduce the District Facilitation Centres (DFCs) in District where large number of cases are pending.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills the Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice invites application from retired judicial and executive officer with legal background for filling up of position of Nyaya Mitra to head District Facilitation Centres under the Ministry of Law and Justice.

The Nyaya Mitra will perform a consultative and facilitating role to devise effective ways to reduce pendency of cases in various Courts and to assist litigants in need of legal aid, added the Deputy Commissioner.
