Guwahati, June 7: Lovely Professional University (LPU) successfully organised the second edition of its flagship outreach programme, “Experience LPU – A Day of Lifetime Inspiration”, in Guwahati on Saturday, attracting an enthusiastic response from students and parents across Assam and neighbouring states.
Participants from Guwahati, Shillong, Tezpur, Nagaon, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Barpeta, Dibrugarh and Dimapur attended the programme to explore higher education opportunities, career pathways and scholarship prospects offered by the university.
The programme was graced by noted academician, science activist and author Tapan Kumar Sarma as the Chief Guest. A former Vice Principal and Associate Professor of Physics at North Gauhati College, Sarma has made significant contributions towards the popularisation of science through the People’s Science Movement and has authored several acclaimed works on science, history and the Assamese diaspora.
The event was designed to provide students and parents with comprehensive information on higher education opportunities, career-oriented learning, student development initiatives, placement support, international exposure programmes and the wide range of scholarship opportunities available at Lovely Professional University.
Senior university representatives, including Dr. Rajesh Verma, Dr. Vishal Sharma, Dr. Varun Kumar and Dr. Balpreet Singh, interacted extensively with attendees and addressed queries related to admissions, academics and student life.
The sessions offered detailed insights into LPU’s academic ecosystem, industry collaborations, internships, placement opportunities, skill-development initiatives and global learning experiences that prepare students for future careers.
One of the major highlights of the programme was the recognition and distribution of scholarships to deserving students. Scholarships were awarded on the basis of academic excellence, achievements in sports and cultural activities, as well as performance in national-level competitive examinations. The initiative received an encouraging response from both students and parents.
The event witnessed active participation from students accompanied by their parents, reflecting the growing aspiration among the youth of the region for quality higher education and future-ready career opportunities.
The interactive format of the programme enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of the academic environment, support systems and career prospects available at LPU.
