Shillong June 04: The Mawkhar Sports Club celebrated the World Environment Day 2017 by organizing a Cross Country Race & Run 2017 on Saturday the 3rd June, 2017 from YMCA, Mawkhar Main Road Shillong. Altogether 156 Nos runners participated in the Run.
Smti Roshan Warjri, Local MLA & Hon’ble Minister of Health, etc, Shri WHD Syngkon, Headman, Dorbar Shnong Mawkhar, Dr. B.P.S. Toi, Assistant Headman, Dorbar Shnong Mawkhar, Smti S.N. War, President, Seng Kynthei Mawkhar & Shri S.S. Rapthap, Adviser, Mawkhar Sports Club flagged off the run and also distributed prizes to the winners in different categories. The Sports Club also celebrated this day by planting trees across the Mawkhar Locality .
The winners in the cross country race are, in men category, wiener are, 1st – Synsharlang Wahlang
2nd – Jomsingstar Ramsiej and 3rd – N.P. Singh, in women category ,Smti 1st – Pynhun ShulletSmti 2nd – Dateibankynmaw Marwein And smti 3rd – Bandasharai Marwein, in boys category the winners, 1st – Joyfullness Kharwanniang, 2nd – Batsingstar Kharjahrin and 3rd – Dasaman Kyndait and in the girls category are, 1st – Aidaris Lyngkhoi, 2nd – Happiness Phawa and 3rd – Evamerry Ramsiej.
The others participants who are the youngest and the oldest, from the boy’s is Banteithymmai Kharjahrin, from the girl’s the youngest is Baaijingshai Kharjahrin, from men side is Mr Disil Nongrum and from the women side is Smti Bandalin Rani.
