Shillong, Nov 13: The Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma today announced in the 44th Annual Wangala Festival in Tura, that the government has earmarked Rs. 10 cores to developed a Garo Heritage Village at Wangala A’dam in Tura.
The Chief Minister twitted that the Government is committed to promote and preserved the rich cultural and traditions of the Garos, in this heritage village there will be infrastructure facilities and amenities.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the Wangala Committee continues to do a tremendous job in organising the Wangala Festival annually, in the gathering the chief minister hand a cheque of Rs. 20 lakhs for the part of Rs. 50 lakhs for organising the festival.
The Chief Minister said that he was glad to attend the 44th Hundred Drums Wangala Festival at Wangala A,dam Chibagre Tura, the Wangala festival is the special festival that they identify as the celebration of their roots and their identity and as a Garo said the Chief Minister.
