Shillong, Oct 28: With the aim of spreading awareness on the importance of COVID appropriate behaviour for prevention of COVID-19 in line with the Central Government’s Campaign for COVID Appropriate Behaviour, the Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guards, Meghalaya has launched a poster and pledge taking campaign in the 11 districts of the State since last week.
The aim of the Campaign is to sensitize the public towards appropriate and responsible behaviour during the unlock stage of COVID-19 and festive season. Posters reminding citizens about COVID appropriate behaviours such as wearing of masks and face covering, frequent washing of hands with soap and water and sanitizer and maintaining of social distance (6 feet) and administration of the Pledge is all part of this campaign.
The office of the Deputy Controllers of Civil Defence, which is the district level civil defence office in all districts of the State, has been actively engaged in the campaign in their own district and has posted posters and administered the COVID Appropriate Behaviour Pledge to citizens in various villages, elaka and blocks of the State.
As per the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Civil Defence and Home Guards organization in the Country, the Campaign will last for two months, i.e. October and November.
