Shillong, March 31:The Government of Meghalaya has declared the 12th April, 2021 as general holiday in the whole of Garo Hills Districts on account of General Elections 2021 to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council.
Employees working in other districts of the state who are electors under the constituencies of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council shall be granted special leave.
Industrial undertaking or any of the establishment governed by NI Act 1881, shops and those who work on shift basis, daily wages and casual workers including those working outside the constituency who are voters under the above constituencies shall be entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday. This was informed by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department.
