Shillong, August 25: The hunger strike by the AMMPWA enter the third day today, and one of the participant Mr Nearmith Momin, at around 11.20 AM, collapse due to weakness and he was taken to civil hospital for treatment.
The demand of the AMMPWA from the state government , that they should be observed in the health department, based on the office memorandum written from the Ministry of health and family welfare National Health Mission on 23th June 2014.
In this letter that was sign by the Deputy Secretary,NHM , Capt. Kapil Choudhury has stated, that state government shall; create requisite number of positions of MPW(Male), if such services are required beyond 30.9.2014 and fill them on regular basis.
The MP from Tura Mr Conrad K Sangma, NPP national president along with Thomas Sangma former member of the Raja Sabha along with others members, today in the morning visited the hunger strike members who were in the premise of the Director Health and Family welfare department government of Meghalaya, Shillong. The KHNAM also visited them and the pressure groups who visited them are, TUR, KSU, GSU.
Thought the hunger strike has enter the third day today but the health Department official are still remaining as mute spectator, till today no official from the department has gone to meet them said one of the members who participate in the hunger strike.
