Mr. Rinaldo MDC submit memo to DC of NGH ask for inquiry  for LDA cum typist recruitment

Shillong, March 07: Mr. Rinaldo K Sangma MDC of the 23-Rongrong GHADC Constituency met the Deputy Commissioner of North Garo Hills and submit memorandum ask for an inquiry regarding examination process for the LDA cum typist recruitment and delay in declaring results for various post.

In the letter he seek clarification regarding the rccent recruitment examination for the post of ILDA um Typist conducted in North Garo Hills District. It has come to his information that candidates were required to write answers by hand directly on the question paper instead of using the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) System, which  is widely used in other districts of Meghalaya for similar recruitment examinations.

The MDC stated that the North Garo Hills District Selection Committee is yet to declare results for various posts despite conducting the written tests on earlier dates than other districts. Prior to the examination, he  had formally urged the then Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of the District Selection Committee (DSC), to ensure transparency in the recruitment process.

His concern stems from the favoritism and manipulation, in the letter hi mention that despite his earlier appeal, it is disheartening to note that the examination was conducted in a hand-written format, with candidates writing answers directly on the question paper, instead of using the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) system, which is widely practiced in other districts of Meghalaya to uphold fairness and transparency.

This deviation from standard procedure raises serious doubts about the credibility of the rccruitment process. The OMR system ensures transparency, reduces human error in evaluation, and eliminates the possibility of manipulation. Given that other districts in Meghalaya have adopted this method, he want to understand why the North Garo Hills administration chose a different approach.

The very appointment of the son of an MLA as District Selection Committee members raises serious legal concerns. As per the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, public servants who abuse their official position to confer undue advantage are liable to be investigated and prosecuted for favoritism and corrupt practices.

Their roles in the recruitment process must be thoroughly scrutinized to ensure that no undue inluence wvas exercised. The people of North Garo Hills descrve a fair merit-based recruitment process and reserve the right to seek legal intervention pertaining to the process of this recruitment examination.

In addition to this wrongdoing, it has come to my attention that while other districts have

already declared the results of the written examinations and intimated the candidates for

screening, the North Garo Hills District Selection Committee is yet to declare results despite conducting the written tests on earlier dates than other districts.

Considering these concerns, he seeks to know what was, the rationale behind conducting the examination in handwritten format rather than using the OMR system  why was the OMR system not used for this examination? Given the prior apprehensions regarding potential political bias, what measures have been put in place to ensure fair evaluation he asked.

He question how can the district administration assure that the evaluation process will be fair and free from irregularities and Political nexus while the biological son of local MLA is the Vice- Chairman of the District Selection Committee? What is the reason for delay in the declaration of results for various posts?.
