Shillong, May 13: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority has organised the National Lok Adalat on the 13th May, 2023 in all the districts of the State of Meghalaya, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the Patronage of the Mr. Justice Sanjib Banerjee, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya.
The Patron-in Chief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) and under the supervision of the Mr. Justice H.S.Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
In the National Lok Adalat, 578 Pre-Litigation cases and 368 pending cases were taken up for settlement. Total number of cases taken up was 946, and of which 166 cases were settled for a total amount of ` 69,67,018.44/- (Rupees Sixty nine lakhs sixty seven thousand eighteen and forty four paise) only in the National Lok Adalat.
