Shillong, June 27: Any person who is in Government service whose salary is about ten thousand rupees are no longer eligible for the national food security Act, said the Director food civil supplies and consumers affair government of Meghalaya Mr W. Khyllep.
Speaking to SP News Agency at his office chambers said that person who are working in various government offices whose salary are above ten thousand rupees they are no longer eligible to avail this scheme, but those person who are serving in government offices but drowning their salary less than ten thousand they are entitle to get the NFSA.
The Director categorically stated that in the NFSA the consumer should get five Kg of Rice per head per month at the cost of Rs. 3 /- rupees per kilo, and the AAY family should get 35kgs per cards and the price of Rs.3/- rupees per kg. And the others non NFSA the price is the same that is Rs.10/- per kg.
Mr Khyllep also said that from the Government of India the quantity of rice per head in the NFSA is less than five KG but the state government has declare in the Act that they will issued Five Kg per head and all the PDS should follow this government Act.
He also inform that the central government has agreed to what the state government has asked that Rice should be given instead of Wheat on which the government of India has agreed to it and since April of this year 2016 the government of India has issue rice in the NFSA category.
