Shillong, March 17: Shillong Lajong FC registered a 3-2 win over Green Valley FC at the Nehru Stadium Guwahati in the U19 I-League North East Zone Qualifiers on Monday.
Nabin opened the account for the Reds in the 15th minute while Bipin Singh scored a brace in the 51st and 57th minute.
Green Valley FC who has been struggling at the bottom of the table throughout this tournament managed to score two goals via penalties and both were converted by Ridiwan Hajuary in the 60th and 71st minute. The game ended 2-3 in favour of the Junior Reds.
With this win the Lajong Juniors remain undefeated against their North East counterparts and will be representing the “North East” in the final phase of the Under 19 I-League to be held in Jamshedpur.
The Junior Reds scored 15 goals in total, conceded only 5 and end the” U19 I-League Qualifiers” North East Zone campaign with 18 points from 6 matches. (SP News)
