Shillong, July 21: The Government of Meghalaya has taken a decision to enhance the grant for salaries for all adhoc Secondary and higher School teachers including science teachers by 100 percent, this is a big smile to the 3212 teachers in the state.
In the press statement issued today from the office of the Commissioner and Secretary, education Department sign by DP Wahlang stated that teacher in the secondary school level who are getting their salary Rs.10,000/- thousand now they will get Rs.20,000/-.
Teachers who are in the higher secondary who are earlier getting their salary Rs.12000/- now they will get Rs.24,000/- and science teachers who are getting Rs.11,000/- now they will get Rs.22,000/-. From this a total of 1068 school and 3212 teachers will be benefited.
With this enhancement to the salary of the adhoc secondary and hiher secondary school teacher it will cost additional amount to the state exchanger to the tune of Rs.40 cores per annum.
