Ampati, May 22: In observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, the District Mental Health Programme, South West Garo Hills, held a rally on Wednesday to raise awareness about mental health issues. The event began at St. Claret Higher Secondary School Ampati and concluded at Ampati Bazar.
Students from St. Claret Higher Secondary School participated in the rally, carrying banners and placards with messages highlighting the significance of mental health.
The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Matgrik Sangma, the District Nodal Officer of the Mental Health Programme, along with his dedicated team. The rally aimed to promote mental well-being, increase awareness of suicide prevention, and address substance abuse concerns.
One of the key objectives of the rally was to publicize the State Mental Helpline number, 14410, and the District Mental Helpline number, 9362748485, offering essential resources for those in need of support.
