Shillong, March 13: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) today announced its second list of candidates for the coming Lok Sabha polls, with a change of candidate in Meghalaya, for 2-Tura parliamentary seat.
The name of a cabinet minister Mr Zenith Sangma which appear in the fist list have been remove and in his place the name of Daryl William Cheran Momin appear, he is the candidate who will take on the strong man of Garo Hills Mr Purno A Sangma.
From 1-Shillong Parliamentary seat sitting MP Mr Vincent H Pala is again given the ticket form the congress party after thought tousle with the aspirant candidate Mr RV Lyngdoh but the AICC decided to give to the sitting MP.
The election campaign in Meghalaya is yet to pickup, but with the announcement of the Congress the political scenario is clear that there will be a triangular fight in the coming MP election, between the Congress, the UDP candidate Paul Lyngdoh, and the independent candidate Rev PBM Basaiawmoit.(SP News)
