New Delhi, December 05: The Central Government has provided 27% reservation to the OBCs in matters of recruitment to Central Government jobs and admission to Central Government Educational Institutions and this is applicable to the whole Country including the State of Maharashtra.
The services under the State Governments, come under the List II of the Seventh Schedule i.e. State List of the Constitution. The information regarding the reservation given to OBCs by the State Governments is not centrally maintained.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Sushri Pratima Bhoumik in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
