Shillong, March 06: A delegation of Border Guard Bangladesh comprising of 20 members led by Brig General Md Habibul Karim, ndc, psc, Region Commander, North-East Region, Sarail, Bangladesh, has arrived at Shillong on 06th march 2014 for Inspectors General BSF and Region Commander BGB Level Border Coordination Conference.
Conference is held biannually between two border guarding forces for improving the general scenario at border and to discuss the issues related to border, which may affect the tranquility and peace of border. The last conference was held at Sylhet, Bangladesh on 11th to 15th Dec 2012.
In the first session of conference on 06th March 2014, 20 delegates of BGB led by Brig General Md. Habibul Karim, ndc, psc, Region Commander, North-East Region, Sarail,Bangladesh, accompanied by Region Commander, South-East Region, Chittagong, Sector commander of Sreemongal, Khagrachari, Guimara, Rangamati, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Bandarban and Comilla, , member from Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 22 Indian delegates led by Shri Sudhir Kumar Srisvastava , Inspector General BSF, Guwahati accompanied by Inspectors General of Meghalaya, M&C and Tripura Frontiers as well as associated with Dy. Inspectors General of Guwahati, Meghalaya, M&C and Tripura Frontiers, Staff Officer from Spl DG East, Kolkata and New Delhi, representatives of Ministry of External Affairs and Narcotics Control Bureau are participating at Frontier HQ BSF, Umpling Shillong. During conference trans-border issues will be discussed at length.(SP News)
