Shillong, Dec 3: Based on reports that 3 (three) positive COVID-19 cases are detected in Rani Building at Block-D, Madanrting, which houses 52 families in different units having close proximity to each other and a common entry and exit and in order to facilitate active surveillance and testing and to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19.
The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong in an order issued on 3rd December 2020 has declared the above mentioned building as a Containment Area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.
According to the order, no person shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within this area shall not move out. All the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home.
The Incident Commander, Zone-VI, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order and any violation of the order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.
