Shillong, June 20: The Executive Member incharged land revenue Mr Hedrian Lyngdoh on his reply to the question asked by the Congress MDC from Rambrai K M Marbaniang whether the KHADC has issued any No Objection certificate for the construction of the railway line, the EM in said no, the KHADC has not issued any NOC.
Answering to supplementary question, the CEM of the KHADC Mr PN Syiem, in form the house that the Executive Committee is not keeping quite as alleged by the opposition, the EC is seeking legal expert opinion before they take any stand, since this issued involved with the central and the state Government.
From the EC has taken serious note on the traditional head who has issued NOC without consulting the District council, when problems arise and the District council is to be blame. As per the previous Land Acquisition Act NOC is not required, but with the new Land Acquisition Act 2013 is required.
The CEM inform the house that after getting the opinion from the legal expert then the District council will act accordingly as per law. The CEM remind the house that the District Council is a constitutional body they have to act constitutionally.
