The Meghalaya Police arrested two KSU members who were alleged of stabbing late Dewan

Shillong, March 24: The Meghalaya Police arrested two Khasi Student’s members who were alleged that they are involved in stabbing incident at Iewduh where one person late Rupchand Dewan succumbed to his injuries.

In the press statement issued today by the police said that, following the incident of a series of stabbings by unknown persons at Iewduh area on the 29th Feb, 2020 in retaliation to the death of late Lurshai Hynniewta at Ichamati.

In the incident at Iewduh where one person late Rupchand Dewan succumbed to his injuries and six others grievously injured, the East Khasi Hills Police had left no stone unturned in meticulously collecting evidence and statements from eye witnesses.

During the last three weeks the police claim that they were able to collate all the evidences to identify the perpetrators of this heinous crime and on the 23rd March, 2020 arrested one person who also confessed to have committed this crime along with three others accomplices.

On his leading the second accused was also arrested and the police are on the lookout for the remaining two who have been identified and will be arrested shortly. The Police said that the two arrested person were Melajied Khongbuh, Publicity Secretary KSU Jaiaw Circle and Laldin Nongkynrih, KSU Member, Mawkhar Circle said the Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills, Shillong in the press statement iisued today.
