The MJCTU&A asked the Chief Minister of Meghalaya to resolved this strike call by MJACCV

Shillong, Feb 13: While Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions & Associations (MJCTU&A) extending ITS Solidarity support to Striking Taxi Drivers and Association of Khasi Hills & Jainta Hills , MJCTU&A urges upon Chief Minister of Meghalaya to intervene in the vexed issue and to take the initiative to settle the demands of the through negotiation but it should not be at the cost of general public.

Due to continuous price rise of essential commodities since l during pre & post lockdown period , the common people of the sate are the worst sufferers . As such , mitigate the hardship of the common peoples as well as the members of Taxi Drivers & Owners Association coupled with other commercial Transporters , the MJCTU&A strongly urges upon Government of Meghalaya to come forward with a mechanism which can give relief to all affected people of the state including owners & Drivers of Local & Tourist Taxis of the state.

MJTU&A also urges upon the concern department of Meghalaya to check the ongoing price rise of essential items including vegetables, non-essential items & and Different types of general medicine.

On behalf of MJCTU&A would like to say that, In no case, Petrol & Diesel price rise and subsequent hike of Taxi Fare & Transport charges etc, should not be imposed upon affected common people of the State especially daily wage earners and labourers, said J L Das General Secretary of the MJCTU&A, Shillong.
