Shillong, April 15: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee wishes to congratulate the Voters of Garo Hills for voting judiciously in the Just concluded Elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council the result of which is declared today.
He MPCC thank the people of Garo Hills for reposing their trust and confidence in the Indian National Congress by voting it to the single largest party position. The people have rejected the money and muscle power as resorted to by some of the forces.
The Meghalaya PCC warmly congratulates the victorious party candidates for their outstanding performance in the election against all possible hurdles put up by the opponents. The result is clearly an improvement upon the performance of the party in the last GHADDC elections.
The party also congratulates and thank all other candidates who might have not been elected but fought this heroic battle against all possible odds. The party also advises all of them to continue to work for the party and the people.
Meghalaya PCC further wishes and thanks all the voters of Garo Hills for voting with utmost commitment to the restoration of democracy and with the sole aim to bring about positive changes in the administration of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and rejecting those who have turn it into a total mess.
The Meghalaya PCC hopes to form the council with the support of likeminded and secular forces and deliver justice to all said Mr James S Lyngdoh Working President of the MPCC inthe press statement issued today.
